Coach not winning we he's not supposed to? Please recall Honaker 03' wait why not recall anytime we've played an LPD team. We're the underdogs constantly. And as far as being biased to coach i'm the only one on this board that's kin to him and I don't mind questioning some things
Other than Clintwood this year and Powell Valley when Blaine pulled the punt return off when has he beaten a team that he shouldn't have? I just want to know and that is not a knock against him some of you know more about Haysi history than i do. But as far as the 03 team i thought that was not a upset both teams were pretty evenly matched, and i so not think the great one as it seems to be thought he was Patrick even played? I will give it to him he was a stud for one year but that is just it one year, and to me that does not mean jack, and i guess that was for another topic but you cant make him all world for doing it one year i dont feel. Nothing against him because he was a heck of a athlete, but the single year thing is what bothers me about giving all the praise.
Dundin i said "beaten" and i may be wrong but i have not seen Colley beat anyone when he was not supposed to since Powell Valley in 93 but hey like i said someone like 77 or James could correct me on that, even DH may know one i don't also and if so i would be happy to pick up some knowledge.
okay air-ran if you checked predictions the past few years then you'd realize we're predicted to lose a lot. My senior year pound was predicted to beat us and we thromped them forty some to nothing. My sophomore year Honaker was predicted to win the BDD but we came out with it. Clintwood was predicted to beat us that year as well and we shut them out for the first time in haysi history. Coach wins games he's not supposed to win all the time
Well being predicted to lose by some newspaper and beating a better team is a different thing. Newspapers half of the time dont have a clue and i really dont see it as an upset if you are predicted in a close game to lose or win......if you are supposed to be getting killed and pull one off now that is an upset.
Who cares and who reads newspaper predictions anyway? Like I said before and I will say again...Colley is tough to beat when he has more talent than his opponent...however, when the other team is more talented he doesn't win that often...I won't say ever but its not that often...newspaper predictions are not a good barometer for which team is more talented...so I will ask you to name for me the times when Haysi has beat a team who was obviously more talented? Are you saying Pound was more talented than Haysi in '03? What a joke! Are you saying Clintwood was more talented than this years Haysi team? Yeah Right! Also in '01 the year Haysi shut out Clintwood they were absolutely terrible!...and I don't care what anyone says Haysi was way more talented than the Honaker team they faced friday....I give Haysi the slight edge on offensive and defensive line and a significant edge at LB, Secondary, WR's and RB's...the only area that Honaker had an edge talent wise was at the QB position...now you want to tell me Haysi shouldn't have one that game? Colley is a good coach no doubt and I love him to death but sometimes he out coaches himself...no knock on him it happens to the best coaches every now and then.

Is it because you let the cat out that you are from Haysi with all the "We" still can do this and "We" can still make the playoffs with homefield advantage? For someone that pulls for Honaker you would think you would be saying "WE" in referance to Haysi now would you? Got to be quicker with the EDIT, becasue i done read it...........lol.

back to the deal with winning games when you are not suppose to...name me a coach that has won more than just a few games when they were totally not suppose to win...and you probably can't because that doesn't happen...what good coaches is win with the players they have to work with and when a coach loses games to teams that are not as good as them...that is when you can say they are a bad coach...and i think coach colley has won the games when he was suppose and also seasons that were suppose to be down years at haysi he seems to alwasy pull out with a winning record except for a couple years
and reference to the talent level...yes haysi has had some guys that were extremely talented and the hackneys were some of them but coach colley has had guys that weren't so talented and made them ballplayers because of his knowledge and ability to get the best from his players and if getting best from all of your player is not good coaching...what is?
